Startups in Bright are positioned to enter new markets, secure significant funding rounds and strengthen their global presence.
In 2025, global capital markets placed greater emphasis on sustainable investments, clear business models and sector focus.
As these dynamics reshape funding flows, Hub71 plays an increasingly important role in bridging funding gaps, particularly at early and growth stages, ensuring startups can access capital from inception to scale.
Breakdown of capital partners per category:

Hub71 strengthens the connection between education, research, and industry, ensuring startups can access talent aligned with their growth needs and integrate it into real-world innovation environments.
Hub71 works with a network of academic institutions and talent partners to connect students, researchers, and early-stage founders with startups across its community.
Hub71 has strengthened its talent sourcing through a more structured and data-driven model, improving visibility into talent flows and enabling more effective touchpoints between startups and qualified candidates.
Hub71 plays a central role in this by embedding talent directly within its startup community, enabling startups to access the capabilities required to scale, while creating pathways for students and researchers to transition into high-growth startups and contribute to long-term ecosystem development.
DEEPER COLLABORATIONS
In 2025, Hub71 deepened its collaboration with national champions, government entities, progressive regulators and international ecosystem partners to support the development of Abu Dhabi’s Falcon Economy, expand access to new markets, capital and talent, and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a launchpad for global growth.
Within life sciences, partnerships are enabling structured pathways for startups to validate and deploy their technologies in real-world clinical environments. For example, regulatory approval from the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi paved the way for Hub71 startup BioTwin to partner with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to pilot its virtual human twin technology for breast cancer screening.
In education, regulatory collaboration is also supporting innovation in education and digital learning. Hub71 startup Lamsa conducted its first pilot with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), demonstrating how early engagement with regulators and government institutions can accelerate the adoption of solutions supporting early childhood development.
In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Hub71 aligns startup innovation with key economic initiatives, including the Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster, AgriFood Growth and Water Abundance (AGWA) cluster, Health, Endurance, Longevity and Medicine (HELM) cluster and the Fintech, Insurance, Digital and Alternative Assets (FIDA) cluster.
Further initiatives with entities such as Khalifa Fund, through the MZN x Hub71 programme supporting Emirati entrepreneurs, and the Early Childhood Authority through the Anjal Z programme, are expanding opportunities for founders to build solutions aligned with national priorities.
Hub71 strengthened its international ecosystem partnerships through programmes in Hong Kong and Japan, bringing high-potential startups to Abu Dhabi to support their expansion into the UAE and wider region. In collaboration with partners including HSITPL, Cyberport, MTR Lab, JETRO and Elixir Capital, participating startups received market access support, mentorship, investor engagement and opportunities to connect with Abu Dhabi’s innovation ecosystem.
